Current Programmes

We are currently running eight SPACE programmes for new parents in the Wellington Playcentre Association Region.   These groups are located at Tawa-Linden, Ngaio, Newtown, Newlands-Tamariki, Johnsonville, Hataitai and Waikanae Playcentres. Unfortunately all our programmes, but one, are full. The only progrmme with current vacancies is Waikanae SPACE.

Due to the structure of the programme, it is necessary to group together babies of similar ages. Hence, it will often be necessary to travel to a centre that is running a SPACE programme for babies around the same age as your child.

Future Programmes

We aim to have a new group for parents of children aged from birth to five months starting at the beginning of each new school term.  Occasionally we are able to offer places to older babies when positions open up in current programmes.

A new programme for the Kapiti Coast is planned to run from Waikanae Playcentre on a Wednesday morning. This programme is only half full so please make contact if you would like to find out more. The programme will begin once we have sufficient numbers.

Our next set of new SPACE programmes for Wellington city will begin in October and will be suitable for babies born from June 2010. Registrations for these programmes are now being taken. Due to the high demand for our SPACE courses we recommend that you register your interest as early as possible to avoid disappointment - preferably before your baby is born.

Programme cost

We ask for a donation of $30 per term towards the cost of the programme. This is tax-deductible and is not payable until the programme has begun.
